As we were looking through our kitchen window doing our FeederWatch count, who should drop in but this magnificent Northern Flicker! Now of course I see them from time to time as I hike on the wild side, but this is the very first time one has visited our yard. He stayed at the suet feeder for several minutes allowing me to get off several wonderful closeup shots through the window. Usually they have been a distance away and up high, so this was especially wonderful to get such a closeup view!
