This is the fifth winter this bird has been living in my woods. He has developed gray spots this year, but I’m sure it’s the same bird. This seems to be a a long lifespan in the wild. How long do they normally live?
Hi Douglas, in case you aren’t aware, this bird is leucistic. Leucism is a condition affecting pigmentation in the body, which causes white patches. Also, Juncos live for 3-11 years. So you could be seeing this guy for many more years to come! Ava
