Description

I was watching a group of sanderlings feeding in the surf along with this lone Heermann’s gull. The sanderlings eventually took off down the beach leaving the gull with this part of the surf all to itself. Soon enough the gull was digging up little arthropods for lunch. The little arms of the arthropod waving in protest won’t stop the gull from a snack.
