Our first summer in WA and I heard an unusual sound – looked around outside and there was this Chukar singing his heart out from atop the hood or our SUV. His other favorite place to call for a mate was the top of the neighbor’s truck. When you hear his call you certainly know why they call him a “Chukar”. Only saw him that one summer and never again – never saw a mate either.
