Common Redpolls – by end of last season – I went from an average of 200 per day throughout the season to about 500 per day at my feeders! This was on Sugarloaf Mountain, Maine (Carrabassett Valley) – one of my two counting areas. Due to the thaws followed by freezes, the migrating birds kept stopping off at my feeders. I went up about 100 birds after the 3 spring thaw/freeze episodes.
