Description

This juvenile Cooper’s Hawk staked out my feeders. It flew in but missed the birds feeding. It flew under my pine tree and came out with this sparrow. It flew to the middle of my yard and “played” with it like a cat with a mouse. For almost an hour it would release, chase, catch, pick up & throw, pounce on then release the sparrow and repeat this routine before it finally ate it.
