Description

There are three double-crested cormorants that regularly fish very close to my house. There is a male, female and a juvenile. They are quite skittish, but I have slowly approached them over time, and now they allow me within touching distance and are so comfortable with my presence, they turn their backs on my as I am standing very close to them. They are such incredibly beautiful birds with their yellow beak and blue eyes and brown plumage. I photograph them often and I like the way this portrait turned out. The background looks like it was shot in a studio but it is the way the camera captured it.
