Due to a rare snowstorm in Atlanta, we had Snow Bird Wars all day as they fought for the feeder. So many birds came, in one day they cleaned out 7 pounds of seed. The bluebirds in particular are quite defensive, trying to scare all others away from the feeder. This photo captures the moment when this bluebird decided he could scare off the bigger woodpecker.
Week 13: The Unexpected

And the Bluebird squawked to the Red-Bellied Woodpecker, "Hey, that was MY nut you are taking."
