The is Henry, the local GBH at our dock. I thought he was just giving me a show because I kept following him around with my camera, but apparently he does this all the time on sunny days.
Week 13: The Unexpected
Species: Great Blue Heron
I have a photo very much like this. My flashing GBH was a young one, still hanging out with its siblings. It struck this pose as my dog and I were heading toward it on a creekside trail. I thought maybe it was trying to scare us off by making itself look bigger, similar to what a cat might do.
