Description

I was surprised to look up at the window feeder yesterday to see a little titmouse just resting and looking out. I’ve never seen a titmouse act like that – they are usually like chickadees, flitting around and never in one spot for more than a moment! So imagine my shock to watch him crawl completely into the feeder, hunker down, and have a snooze for about 15 minutes!

In this photo he is facing left, and he has tucked his head beneath the wing facing us. You can just see the top of his tufted cap peeking out. I was feeling badly for not topping up the peanuts yesterday afternoon, but I guess there are benefits to having a soft nest of peanut skins to nestle into… 🙂
