Wonderful lighting with highlights on feathers that cause great contrast to emphasize the patterns in the wing feathers for a dynamic play of shapes. Warm pinks contrast the cool grays and immediately draws the eye to the focal point, our subject, with his elegant royal coat of feathers. Short depth of field softens the background keeping our eye on our little feathered friend with just enough snow flakes to capture the mood and even the motion of the falling flakes, yet does not distract from the clarity and crispness of this wonderful image captured by Elaine Lagarto.
