The early snow in November 2014 brought the Northern Cardinals out in droves to my feeders. The snow was gorgeous – and a perfectly formed snowflake was positioned smack dab in the center of this male Northern Cardinal’s crest! Almost looks like a hindu bindi, doesn’t it? Or we could say he’s wearing natures jewelry!
