I love the acorn woodpeckers that inhabit our ravine/open space area next to our house. They are so chatty, always chasing each other from tree to tree. I only recently learned that it was the acorn woodpecker that inspired the character Woody the Woodpecker, and with their clown faces, that totally makes sense.
