This inquisitive Gray Catbird stumbled upon the hummingbird feeder on my back deck and decided to give it a try! Never expected to see one there, and I don’t think he liked it much because I never saw him try it again:)
Week 6: Unexpected at the Feeder
Gray Catbird Sneaking a Sip!
Unfortunately the catbirds at my house shake the feeder and knock all the nectar out. They also chase off the hummers. In the past they’ve coexisted in peace but this year I now have no hummers as they’ve stopped coming. I’m at a loss what to do with this. The way my house is built if i move the feeder anywhere else I will be unable to watch them.
