Description

As I began to walk the Bark Haul Trail in the Fannie Stebbins Wildlife Preserve, I became aware of some movement to my right and a a little overhead. Much to my surprise I spotted this Ruby-throated Hummingbird hovering above a branch, darting a little left and right before finally settling down on her nest. It was only about 25 feet up and along the edge of the path, giving me plenty of opportunity to take many shots. Not only was it great to see this little beautiful bird but also to be able to see in fine detail what goes into the construction of the nest.
