Description

The goal of this garden was to provide a bird-friendly back yard. The garden has perennials, shrubs, vines and trees. The bird bath is shallow and visited often by birds. Bird houses mounted to the top of the fence poles are used by wrens every year. The native perennials provide nectar for hummingbirds and butterflies. The seed heads are left on the plants throughout winter to provide seeds for non-migrating birds. My vegetable garden is close to this garden and the birds keep the bad insects to a minimum. I’m most proud of the wide variety of birds I have been successful in attracting.
