We normally have many House Sparrows, House Finches, and Juncos during the winter months. Imagine my surprise on December 31 at seeing something so common, yet so different! The other finches did not seem to mind being near this bird. I have seen it a couple of times since this photo as well, so the nearby Sharp-shinned has not picked it off!
