Description

Every year, I get a few Ruby-throated Hummingbirds in my yard. Usually, one male claims the yard as his own. While, by the end of the season, several other hummingbirds show up for a nectar snack, the dominate male will always be on watch to chase them away (or, if we’re lucky enough to see, to woo them with his mating “dance”). I snapped the above photo while this little guy was proudly claiming what was his.
