Description

This beautiful little group of pine siskins were making quite a racket in the trees in my backyard one winter morning. I did not immediately recognize their song so I went inside and grabbed my camera and field guide. I snapped a couple pictures and as soon as I saw this one, just based on the pine cone seed sticking out of his beak, I thought to myself “duh” they even have the word pine in their name and sure enough when I flipped open to their page in my book it confirmed it. I was very happy to see them in my yard enjoying their pine cones!
