Last winter I was asked by the executive director (Mrs Reed) at ” Make North Fulton Beautiful” for an Eagle Scout project to investigate and identify 6 to 10 proper sites throughout the city for installing Wood Duck nesting boxes. What a great way to volunteer! We got on the project at – 10F weather and I loved it! Few months later I returned to check the nesting activity and photographed this male! Wood Ducks nest during winter (Jan to Feb) and it’s one of the most difficult waterfowl to be photographed due to their skittish nature. It was such a delightful moment to see him through my view finder!
