This hummer often visited the feeder in my mom’s Japanese garden. One day when I was reading a book near the feeder, I felt something on my shoulder. I slid my eyes to the right and saw that this hummer had landed on my shoulder. He was probably looking for a perch that was reliably inert but I preferred to think of it as a cross species friendly gesture.
