Description

A Common Merganser family swimming on Lake Baptiste, located just south of Algonquin Provincial Park in Ontario. The diving ducks appeared to have an less-than-friendly relationship with the Common Loons that shared the lake with them; in one encounter the mother gave out an alarm call when the loons approached, and the loons crouched low in the water in a possible attempt to avoid detection.
