Description

This juvenile Cooper’s Hawk scattered the feeder birds as he flew into the backyard. He patiently waited a full 45 minutes, 20 minutes of it hiding in a large boxwood bush hoping that the birds would come back to the feeders. As they started to return on little House Sparrow flew directly into the boxwood. Seconds later the hawk was on the ground in front of the bush with its prey. It was an amazing thing to watch unfold.

Judi, this is a beautiful Cooper’s! I really like the lovely green setting and the nice lighting on his face.
