Description

This baby green heron was found and brought to the Raptor Education Group, Inc. (REGI) in Antigo, WI. The staff and volunteers there aid orphaned and injured birds of all kinds. This little heron was just too cute (in his own odd little way).

Not too many of us have seen a baby green heron! Cute in its own way. What big eyes! So, thanks for sharing this photo and your experience.

Very cute. I volunteer at the Wildlife Center of Virginia and know that not all rescued birds survive. I hope it survived and was released back to the wild. I love your photo.

I have herons that live in my trees. I don’t think it has any green on it though. I just love their sounds that they make. The one sound I really like sounds to me like a baby cub growling. They remind me of a teradactyI when they fly. I live in San Antonio, Texas & I have a huge pond close to me. It is a few hundred feet away, so they have plenty of food.
