Description

Three Red-cockaded Woodpeckers in the same frame (a life-bird for me)! The Red-cockaded Woodpecker is a bird of mature southern pine forests. Its preference for longleaf pine and the destruction of that habitat have resulted in the woodpecker becoming an endangered species.

Endangered Red-cockaded – Three Framed

Thrilled to see three endangered Red-cockaded Woodpeckers together! A life-bird experience, I would have been happy with seeing just one.
