Sandhill Cranes winter around Muscatatuck NWR. They will stay until around the first week of March in the cornfields feeding and dancing for their beginning of migration.

I have a 4 acre pond with a small island. Last 2 years a pair of cranes have nested on the island and incubated 1 colt. They are marvelous to watch. Never was sure of the male and female they share setting on the egg so that doesn’t give any idea of which is which. Found it here, thanks.
