Description

A pair of Swainson’s nested in the large spruce at the edge of the parking lot of my former apartment complex. The two chicks got used to humans and human activity, and after they fledged, they would fly around and perch on the stair railings, roofs, and a stockside pickup truck. I caught this one on the truck looking at something in the grassy field over my shoulder. Those few weeks when they were hanging around the buildings while learning to fly and to be hawks were very special.
