Freezing rain on a late December day does not discourage this House Finch from perching in the thorny bramble to munch on a berry or two.

All decked out in red berries and raindrops.

The color coordination in this photo is amazing, don’t you think? Without the finch it would just be a tangle of brambles – sort of interesting. But add that finch and voila – most interesting! The green branches highlight greys/reds/browns, also making this scene special.
