Description

The Kookaburras’ snake-killing prowess is quite an experience to witness! They also hunt lizards, mice, frogs, insects and small birds. Unlike the Kingfisher, the Kookaburra is carnivorous with the snake as their favorite food; they rarely eat fish. They take their prey up onto a thick branch of a tree and proceed to thrash and beat the animal, back and forth, over and over on the branch until it flaps like a flag. By this behavior, they have learned it breaks just about all of the animal’s bones making for a very tender dinner!

Cool, I’ve never seen a Kookaburra before, but your image makes me want to see one myself! Nice image, and a very cool bird to have the chance to see.
