While traveling last fall I camped at Lave Beds National Monument, near Tule Lake to do some birding. This bird landed on a nearby rock…I had no idea what it was since I had never seen a Townsend’s Solitaire before. When searching my bird book the one thing that helped me was the way the eye looked so much like a Bluebird, that’s when I found the ID of the bird! A new life bird for me.
