This female Red Bellied Woodpecker has been visiting our yard for well over a month now. I was happy that she stayed so I could count her for the Feeder Watch Program, but I wonder if she is lonely. My husband and I spot one female several times a day in our yard but there has been no male or other female red bellied woodpeckers in the weeks that we spotted her. We live in northern Minnesota so this is a rare bird for us.
