This Pileated Woodpecker live wherever there are trees. They specialize in foraging on trees, usually by rermoving bark or drilling holes to take insects and their larvae. Some eat acorns.

Pileated Woodpecker

This Pileated woodpecker comes to our feeder everyday. Is a beautiful bird and such a gorgeous site when he flys away with the white on his wings.

We have some coming to a seed feeder – a Squirrel Buster – that they cling to it and eat from the holes on the bottom. They climb up our Ash tree and “jump” over (sometimes unsuccessfully…) to it. Beautiful birds.
