This Red-tailed Hawk swooped down onto a brush pile behind my privacy fence, scaring all the birds from my feeders. When I went to see what was going on, you could hear the cry of an animal beneath him, taking cover inside the pile. This Hawk was determined to get his meal and let me get as close as 12′ before finally flying off to a nearby tree.

After looking at a few other shots – this may be a Cooper’s Hawk. How do you tell the difference?
