Great shot! The simplicity of the bare branches enhances the complexity of detail in this cardinal making for a very good composition.
I have a friend who was and still is on occasion a winter time ranger at Big Bend NP. One time on the way back to South Carolina from visiting our daughter and family in Albuquerque we stopped at Big Bend for a visit. The pyrrhuloxia was the bird I wanted to see most there. I did indeed see quite a few. This one was right outside their camper on New Year’s Day.
OMGosh, we may be headed there relatively soon. We must see one of these. Great shot!
