As far back as I can remember, my mom has grown a beautiful butterfly garden, filled with a combination of native and non-native species. While the butterfly bush is now known to be an invasive species, the hummingbirds love it as much as we love some of our non-local food imports! We grow native when we can, and try to buy local, but these flowers are a well-loved treat.
