Description

In late September and early October each year large numbers of turkey vultures congregate at Devil’s Lake State Park near Baraboo, Wisconsin. They glide high above the bluffs, roost in trees, and are everywhere. It is quite amazing to be surrounded by these large and distinctive birds. They really are quite beautiful in their own way.

On Monday October 21, 2019 I hiked the East Bluff Trail at Devil’s Lake State Park and watched many turkey vultures soaring on strong wind currents.
