Burnaby Lake, Burnaby, BC, Canada

Description

Despite all the Canada Goose goslings who were being trotted out for adoring crowds, there were still brawls going on at the Piper Spit portion of Burnaby Lake. This two-way territorial tussle ended up involving three Canada Geese, and “spectators” like a Wood Duck hen were scrambling to get out of the way.

When the fight was actually resolved and the air (or should that be water?) cleared, the combatants innocently went about their everyday business of preening as if nothing untoward (flapping, nipping, and honking) had happened.

Photographed on May 3, 2015.
