This is a gynandromorph cardinal, which means it has the reproductive systems of both genders. It is typically a loner, however I spotted the cardinal with a male and two females feeding together in my yard. At first, I was in awe and had no idea what I was looking at. After researching what I just witnessed, I came to the conclusion the cardinal was an absolute scientific rarity.
