Description

I could get 20+ Northern Flickers in my yard at one time, along with Acorn Woodpeckers, Hairy Woodpeckers, and Lewis Woodpeckers in the winter in bad weather. Because of that I would put suet on my split rail fence posts so there would be more suet stations to handle all the Woodpeckers. On this particular day, I was lucky enough to snap a picture of a Starling trying to get some suet at a post a Northern Flicker had already claimed. In the end the Northern Flicker chased the Starling away.
