Taken Nov. 14, 2016 at 7:10 am with a Canon 7D MarkII with a Tamron 150-600 mm lens at ISO 2,000, 600 mm, f/14 at 1/1,250th second. I was on the east side of the North Crane Pond, Bosque del Apache NWR.
Category 6: Birds in Flight
Species: Sandhill Crane
One juvenile, two adult Greater Sandhill Cranes. "It looks like you were flying with them" said my daughter. Once I was done with this particular shoot, my last of 6 at Bosque, I just burst out laughing. A neighbor looked at me funny, I said "If I don't have the shot by now, I never will".
