Description

A couple of small, marshy ponds in Schoolcraft, MI, are host to hundreds of sandhill cranes during spring and fall migration. The ponds bookend both sides of the road, and they enable you to get excellent views of the cranes as they rise from, and return to, the ponds each day. There are only a few viewers/photographers present, so it is like having your own private Crane Fest. It is my favorite place to view and experience the thrill of sandhill cranes.
