It’s always a thrill to see a Northern Flicker come to one of our feeders, especially a non-suet one. But this July day last year was something special. I was lucky enough to capture an adult feeding its young while both hung off our small, wooden house-stile bird feeder. This feeder is barely big enough for one Flicker to hang off, much less two! Though not ideal lighting conditions, I was glad to be able to capture this little moment of parental care in our own backyard.
