The Elkhorn Slough in Moss Landing California, with it’s amazing rookeries and extensive wetlands, may be a more obvious place to get great looks at egrets and herons, but find any patch of dirt with gopher mounds or ground squirrel holes in Seaside, CA and you’ll be sure to find these master hunters at work.
