This heron was taking a bath at Buttertubs Marsh in Nanaimo. I was able to approach quite close, but when he (she?) finally saw me, he closed up his wings in front of him, much as a person surprised in the shower would try to cover up.
Alternative title: A great blue heron on a bad hair day.
