I was lucky to attend the 24th annual Rio Grande Valley birding festival and signed up for a tour with Ruth Hoyt who is a professional nature photographer. I was feeling the day would be a total loss as the weather was cold with a sleet like constant rain and our morning started quite slow. The Green Jays and Great Kiskadees put on a wonderful show for us at the bird blind followed by a Coopers Hawk sweeping in to get an easy meal. It was the best day for me despite the weather and I am hoping to go back to Texas real soon!

This Green Jay did not mind the cold and rainy day in the 700 acre Laguna Seca Ranch near Harlingen, Texas. He put on quite a show!
