One of these Sandhill Cranes colt is a day old, the other one mere hours. Although very young, they were up for a wrestling match. They would poke and push at each other until one would fall down. Then the fallen colt would get back up, and the match would repeat itself. The parent Sandhill Crane did not seem to mind the battle royale, and the colts seemed to enjoying themselves. In the final panel, that is a look of victory by the standing colt!

I should mention that this was not a battle to the death! Both colts were fine and took naps later on. 🙂
