Description

These Great Horned Owl chicks were hatched and raised in the crotch of a big pine tree on our property. After they fledged, they continued to stay nearby, moving from tree to tree but never too far from their original tree home. They could often be heard “calling” to their parents to bring them food. On our island, the most frequent dinner for them would be squirrel but on this particular day, squirrels must have been scarce so this long snake was delivered instead.
