This juvenile chickadee was the first of its brood to fledge, taking her maiden flight in a straight shot to a nearby ash tree. Mom was close by, encouraging and watchful. Hanging on for dear life, this little cutie seems to be thinking: “Now what?” She eventually flew to a branch, taking the new world in and soon flying like a pro.
