Description

Occasionally we will see a bald cardinal or blue jay during the summer molting. However, this male cardinal had an unusual tuft on the top of his bald head. At first he was quite camera shy as though he felt self-conscious about his unusual looks. After awhile, he became more confident and would come to the feeders. He always made me smile when I looked at him!

The Bald Look With A Feather On Top

I have seen several bald cardinals in the summer, but I have never seen one with a feather tuft on top of the bald head. He was quite unusual!
