2018 was a great year for rose-breasted grosbeaks in our yard – by mid-July the calls of begging babies seemed non-stop. And the parents, particularly the males as seen here, were utterly devoted. This bird is shelling sunflower seeds at the feeder before depositing them into the gaping maw of the hungry chick.
